Admin/Production Assistant (Central London)

Central London, Virtual Publishing Company is looking to replace a key member of their small team in this unique, dynamic and cutting edge marketing and communications environment.

The Role:

You will play a key role in bridging departments in this varied and exciting role. Reporting to the Sales, Editorial, Design and Production departments you will learn all aspects of the world of customer publishing by assisting on titles such as bmi’s voyager magazine, The Lord Mayor’s Show Guide, Great Ormond Street’s Lifeline and the British Heart Foundation’s Heart Health among others.

Reception duties include fielding and redirecting enquiries to the various magazine teams, preparing meeting rooms, organising couriers and mailroom.

Sales support duties include researching for new features, collating data and keeping the contact management system in order. Plus attending to Media Pack requests and preparing mail shots.

Production duties will include proofing, copy chasing, liaising with suppliers/clients and generally assisting the Production Director.

Other duties include: general office management, booking lunches, filing, arranging team activities, and keeping the office clean and tidy.

Plus must be happy to do ad hoc duties as they arise, as we are a fast paced deadline driven environment where anything can happen.

This position would suit a keen all rounder with a passion for publishing who wants to learn the ropes in a hardworking, rewarding environment.

Experience:

You must be a fast learner with a keen interest in IT as we are a technology led company.
Ideally a 2:1 graduate in Media/Communications or English with an inside out knowledge of Microsoft Office and an understanding of databases. You must be a team player yet have the confidence to work autonomously to a high standard. Excellent writing and communication skills are required, as well as the ability to work under pressure. You should be comfortable dealing with all levels of management in a professional and polished manner.

A demonstrable level of creative/lateral thinking twinned with a knack for problem solving would be advantageous.

As first point of contact for the company, a neat and tidy appearance is essential.
